Glass Rice was founded in 2016 by Cecilia Chia as a contemporary art gallery focused on ushering a new wave of local Bay Area artists, as well as emerging artists around the US and abroad. Since its inception, our gallery strives to foster recognition rooted in artistic vitality and vision by cultivating a space to build genuine relationships with our artists, community and collectors. Apart from traditional exhibitions, we're highly interested in curating experiences for our audiences through installation driven shows aimed at enveloping most, if not all of your senses, and permeating your memories long after you've left.
