Portas Vilaseca Galeria

Portas Vilaseca Galeria was founded by Jaime Portas Vilaseca in 2012, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The gallery is located in the Botafogo neighbourhood and it works around two main proposals: (a) the focus on young artists; and (b) experimentation. Born in different generations and from different regions in Brazil, our artists develop their researches in several languages – painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, photography, video, installation and performance. The gallery has the values of promoting and institutionalizing its group of represented artists in Brazil and abroad. It is crucial that their works are, above all, an exercise of individual freedom – either for the public who appreciate, for the artists who create or for the gallery that houses and endorse them.
