About
ProjectArt empowers youth, artists and communities through partnerships with libraries across the US where resident artists teach tuition-free, after-school art classes to children in divested communities while developing a new body of their own artwork.
Through tuition-free, after-school arts classes taught by working fine artists in public libraries, ProjectArt aims to provide the opportunity for underserved youth to express themselves creatively, overcome social barriers, and foster the development of pro-socialization skills so they can grow into more thoughtful, empowered young adults. Our mission is rooted in the premise that inequity in arts and cultural engagement opportunities aggravates the cycle of injustice in disenfranchised communities.
