About
Rizomi has been the only gallery in Italy devoted to art brut. It exhibited at Artissima and Artefiera along with the Outsider Art Fairs. Since 2016 it turned its focus on art brut into a research on art and its boundaries mainly concerned with the meta-artistic.
The gallery opened in Turin in 2010. It connected immediately with the Gugging Art Brut Centre, The Creative Growth Art Center and other institutions dedicated to art brut. In 2013 RIZOMI participated to the first edition of the Outsider Art Fair in Paris and have ever since being among its galleries. It showed in the New York edition from 2014. The first gallery to bring art brut to Artissima and Artefiera, since 2015 it has organized shows to bridge the gap between outsider art and official art starting with EMERGENZE (Piero Gilardi, Paola Anziche, Pascal Tassini). In 2016 the gallery relocated to Parma and begun to actively promote the works of young and emerging artists; it has ever since attended contemporary art fairs such as Ddessin Paris and Scope Basel.
