Samuelis Baumgarte

Samuelis Baumgarte Galerie looks back on a 40-year-old tradition of art advising. Founded by Ruth Baumgarte in 1975, the business was restructured in 1986 by her son, Alexander Baumgarte, to today’s Samuelis Baumgarte Galerie. Since 1988, Alexander Baumgarte, who built the nowadays globally operating gallery from the mid 1980s, has been the gallery’s principal. The gallery is located in the heart of the City of Bielefeld, opposite the city hall and the theatre and offers more than 1,000 square meters of exhibition space. The architecture of the building allows almost every kind of exhibition concept including painting, photography, installation and sculpture.
