About
In November 2021, the gallerist and curator Fer Francés (Spain, 1989) opened his new personal project, VETA. It opened its doors in Carabanchel, a popular district of Madrid, with the intention of turning this neighborhood into one of the centers of contemporary art in Spain. This new gallery opened its program with exhibitions by Spanish painters Abraham Lacalle, Santiago Ydáñez and Matías Sánchez. The three of them represent the kind of painting with profound roots in art history that VETA proposes to defend. VETA is in the middle of an enormous transformation. The space is being renovated and expanded by the architecture studio RCR, winner of the Prizker Prize in 2017. The gallery will be opened to different disciplines, breaking the traditional rules of the white cube.
