About
Philip Slein Gallery was opened in 2003 in downtown St. Louis by co-owners Philip Slein and Tom Bussmann. In 2011 the gallery established a partnership with long-time art dealer Jim Schmidt, who introduced an important group of American abstract artists to the Philip Slein roster of emerging and established artists. In 2012 the gallery moved to its current, more prominent location. The gallery’s primary focus remains on painters who work in a variety of styles and who have achieved both regional and international reputations. The Philip Slein Gallery was named one of the top 40 painting galleries in the country by Steven Zevitas in the Huffington Post.
