In anticipation of Valentine’s Day, Public Art Fund's staff members are sharing some of their most beloved exhibitions from our archives.

William Kentridge, 9 Drawings for Projection, 2005

I was first introduced to William Kentridge's work through an exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art (where I was working). I used to go into the galleries during my lunch break and watch the Drawings for Projection films—“Felix in Exile" is my favorite. I also wrote my graduate thesis on two other Kentridge works. Unlike a painting, drawing, sculpture, etc. that one can "Google" and find an image, Kentridge's Drawings for Projection are not readily available to the public, so when I saw that they were going to be screened in Central Park I was very excited. I love that the Public Art Fund made it possible for everyone to enjoy Kentridge's work!
