Since 1740, the Manufacture de Sèvres has never ceased encouraging artists and designers to creates decorative porcelain objects. Traditional manufacturing techniques have been placed at the service of innovation, to improve existing forms and to create new shapes.
Since 1740, the Manufacture de Sèvres has never ceased encouraging artists and designers to creates decorative porcelain objects. Traditional manufacturing techniques have been placed at the service of innovation, to improve existing forms and to create new shapes. Royal at birth, subsequently imperial and today a National Institution, Sèvres has favoured artistic collaborations throughout its long history. Over the years, hundreds of painters, sculptors, ceramists, designers and architects have followed in their footsteps, creating precious and astonishing œuvres in the Manufactory workshops, from Jacques-Emile Ruhlmann to Jean Arp in the 1950s to more recently, Arman, Louise Bourgeois, Zao Wou-Ki, Pierre Soulages, Yayoi Kusama, Barthélémy Toguo, Lee Ufan and Giuseppe Penone.
