Over the last 19 years 21st Editions has established itself as the world’s finest art book publisher by producing what no other enterprise has ever accomplished with the word, image and binding, and whose output is unique. Each book is handmade one at a time by the world’s finest artisans. The list of photographers that are included in 21st Editions’ projects include Sally Mann, Joel-Peter Witkin, Steve McCurry, Graham Nash, Imogen Cunningham, Michael Kenna, and now Wynn Bullock, Timothy Duffy, Robert Farber, and Jack Spencer.
Publisher Steven Albahari has collaborated with some one-hundred artisans, writers and poets. And with each project, the standard of bookmaking has been elevated. Our newest collaborations push those limits even further. The “1998 - 2016” collection now complete, 21st Editions proudly introduces four new titles in a second major collection.
RELATIVITY Wynn Bullock 18 platinum estate prints and 1 vintage silver print paired with select Albert Einstein letters and his complete first paper on Relativity.
BLUE Timothy Duffy 18 portraits in platinum plus an original tintype, bound in hand-painted paper. “These portraits of Southern Blues musicians prove that Blues isn’t dead” -Time
COLOUR Robert Farber The premiere showing of Farber’s Deteriorations, Collier Brown pairs Farber with one of the greatest treatises on color ever written: Goethe’s Theory of Colours
CREATURA Jack Spencer Pigment-ink prints by Jack Spencer paired with Carl Jung’s Seven Sermons to the Dead, in a binding comprised of feather, buffalo, calf, and python.
On March 29, 2017 each of these four new titles will premiere to the public at the Association of International Photography Art Dealers Show (AIPAD) at Pier 94 in New York City. These editions are very limited (12-16 copies) with only ten from each available for sale.
