Ode to She: Tribute to Her Story
In honor of Women’s History Month, thirteen profound artists from across the country come together in one epic exhibition that captures the power, strength, perseverance and influence of women.
Co-curated by Heather Carter and Mary Z, Ode to She: Tribute to Her Story will open at 73 See Gallery on Sunday, March 10. Artwork for this exhibition explores the diverse roles women play in society as interpreted by a hand-picked group of artists, many of whom are nationally acclaimed. These stirring works pay tribute to women and their vast contributions — imparting wisdom, tearing down barriers, holding together families, managing households, and providing nurturance.

Their work is featured in renowned institutions including: Denver Art Museum, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Museum of Fine Arts - Boston, Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture, Smithsonian Institution and The Studio Museum in Harlem.
The opening reception on Sunday, March 10 is from 3:30 to 6:30pm with many artists expected to be in attendance. The exhibition runs through Wednesday, April 24, 2019. Artist talks will be announced.
