Ronald Dupont, from March 26th till April 17th, 2016 @ Absolute Art Gallery
As an explorer of today's urbanization, Ronald Dupont commits himself to painting cities as living organisms. Starting March 26th 2016, visitors of Absolute Art Gallery can enjoy his striking universum. The artist captures the bustle and frantic energy of the city in the ongoing movements of the pedestrians, the bright colours of the neons, and the overwhelming presence of traffic and advertising signs.
"City Pulses" shows a number of works based on Dupont's theme of New York City, in which he takes his particular technique to a new level, maintaining subjects of American hyperrealism, but with an all-over painting approach. In the exhibition the artist also pursues the subject of the city of Paris, allowing the eye to lose all perspective in the complexity of the compositions. With the rain series Ronald Dupont further explores the boundaries of his medium. The viewer is drawn directly to the surface of the painting with access to the underlying blurriness of the soaked streets. The colour impregnations in his work enable the artist to combine the all-consuming city rhythms with an intimate atmosphere.
