The incredible photographs taken by KARAGOUZLU and ZAMIT provoke feelings of admiration, amazement and emotion at the majesty of the landscapes found in different parts of the world, but also in the magical universes of the small natural and virgin corner of Tacuarembo in Uruguay.
ALINE KARAGOUZLU was born in Istanbul, in a house that sits in front of the sea. She always go back to this place that she cherish deeply. But she lives on this other side of the globe, where she built her family, and her life. Whenever she seek a word that encompasses all of this, only journeys or "travesias" bridges this side of the planet with the gates of the east. Journeys that she has engraved over and over, every time she join her cardinal points. She does it by sewing lavender fields, profound seas, mountains that get lost in the sky, parks that are both distant and close, with their smells, conversations and traditions; all of them, they live inside of her. Always remembering the forgotten and recovering what has been lost, to complete solely this, her most pure and complete existence.
MARTIN ZAMIT is a Photographer of great sensitivity, whose work reflects his admiration for nature, its preservation, as well as his search of himself as son of the earth. Inspired by his teachers, particularly Javier Hinojosa from Mexico and Roberto Huarcaya from Peru, he seeks to immortalize the unique and unrepeatable moments of the different natural environments of Uruguay through his lenses. He depicts water as a mirror that returns the image of his true self. Every being is water and as essential as every note in the delicate and perfect concert played by nature. Award-winning photographer, his work is present nationally and internationally highlighting the wealth found in the simple things in his local environment. His work can be found in private collections and state institutions.
