FRANK HALLAM DAY: SHRINES

About

Nighttime for Frank Hallam Day has long presented the artist with an opportunity to photograph what his creative mind envisions and his lens will see. As with his Florida “Nocturnal” series, multiple natural and artificially introduced lights transform the night in these large scale, multihued photographs. Shot in Burma (Myanmar) and Thailand, the photographs selected for this exhibition, “Shrines”, describe a sacred and profane continuum, photographs of ancient temples and stupas alongside anachronistic, often dysfunctional telephone booths.
