Image for romantic love, passion for painting
Martin Galle is the student of Neo Rauch, the master of Leipzig School. This year AKI Gallery will hosting Martin Galle’s first solo exhibition in Asia─ Paintings For Lovers on 18th November (Saturday).
Martin got the pure love idea from his favorite singer, Frank Sinatra’s album《 songs for young lovers》.
However, after seeing a Bird-and-flower painting in the Chinese restaurant, he realized that nature of love is so easy and kitch. Love is also contradiction, because it is so easy to happen and disappear. In this solo exhibition, Martin tries to use the series of colorful painting to show the love for lovers.
From realistic to abstract, then from abstract to realistic.
Martin’s work consist of 3 steps: from realistic to abstract, then from abstract to realistic. In the first realistic painting, Martin displays the love’s simple and positive by the blooming flowers and the couple of water mandarin ducks. However, the nature of love, that hiding in the rose romantic, is easy to be induced and fade away. It isn’t hard to aware of depression in his brightness and colorful paintings, since love isn’t forever. In the second step, Martin’s painting style transforms into abstract. He uses the line of yellow, blue, and pink to make up the double ripples, which shows love’s “become”and”fade ”, and between the desire and ecstasy. The strong color is like the pure craziness and non-words poem. Final step, Martin returns to realistic, using large peonies to show that flowers are picked up in the special time, and to be gave
different mission and value. These three series work continuously stimulate viewer’s visual, and say ambiguously about love.《Paintings For Lovers》will be officially opened for lovers on 18th November (Saturday), giving the whisper of love to those in love and not yet in love.
