Stéphanie Saadé (1983) is an internationally appreciated young artist from Lebanon. She graduated in Fine Arts from the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts, Paris, and attended a post-graduate program at the China Academy of Arts, Hangzhou. She was an artist in residence at the Jan van Eyck Academy, Maastricht, and the Cité Internationale des Arts, Paris.
In her work, Stéphanie Saadé addresses subjects like memory and individual experience of time, scale and place. She affects objects and photographs in a subtle way, measuring terms of growth or decrease, articulated by time, weathering and other natural phenomena. The ephemerality of nature is central, with the mineral and plant worlds being addressed through stories, history and the person of the artist. Her first solo show in the Netherlands, curated by Chiara Ianeselli, will include new works as well as site-specific installations.
Stéphanie Saadé’s work has been exhibited across the world, including MuHKA, Antwerp (BE); Marres, Maastricht (NL); Mosaic Rooms, London (UK); La Conserva, Centro de Arte Contemporaneo, Murcia (ES), Beirut Art Center (LB), Grey Noise, Dubai (UAE). SHe lives and works in Beirut and Paris.
