The Albert Merola Gallery is happy to announce the opening of an exhibition of new work by Daniel Bodner. This is Daniel’s first one person show at the gallery. Titled Bathers, the show is an exploration of the human figure in natural light, and of course, in the reflected and immersed shimmer of the sea. Whether a solitary figure, such as in Hatches Harbor 3, or groups, Bathers (8 Figures), Bodner’s paintings evoke a certain moment of time and light, suggesting a memory, like an old photograph recently found.
Bodner lives in Provincetown. He has exhibited extensively in the U.S. and Europe. He is a recipient of a 2014 Lillian Orlowsky and William Freed Foundation grant, and artist residency from The Provincetown Community Compact.
