The Albert Merola Gallery is happy to announce the opening of an exhibition of new work by Sharon Horvath. This will be Horvath’s second one person exhibition at the gallery. Horvath is also the cover subject of this year’s Provincetown Arts Magazine.
Her intuitive painting is infused with a cosmic connection - of mankind and our connection with the universe, our existence amongst “the buzz of particles and stars”; of re-telling stories, of the mystical and magical; of the mundane and higher plane.
Horvath makes her own paints with pigments and polymers, allowing her full expression of color and surface. Horvath is an associate professor at Purchase College, SUNY. She has been the recipient of two Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grants, a Fulbright Research fellowship in 2013, a Fellowship at the American Academy in Rome, and other prestigious awards. She was a Fellow at the Fine Arts Work Center in 1986-87.
