Trevor Zank's exhibition, Falling The Same Way, will open on December 5th at 6:00 PM EST at 926 E 4th St, Los Angeles, CA 90013. This one-day-only event will offer visitors the chance to experience Zank's latest body of work in a physical space, where the textures and energy of the downtown Los Angeles streets—Zank's creative backdrop for the past two years—are brought to life in a visceral, tactile way. After the event, the exhibition will transition online, allowing audiences to engage with the works virtually from December 5th through January 5th.
Falling The Same Way will invite viewers to immerse themselves in Zank’s abstract compositions, which reflect his subconscious responses to the world around him. Created during his time living in downtown Los Angeles, the works will offer a visual record of the everyday moments that often go unnoticed—the weathered layers of street art, the textured surfaces of city streets, and the fleeting impressions left behind by the constant pulse of urban life. Zank’s paintings transform these seemingly chaotic fragments into powerful, contemplative compositions, urging us to reconsider what we deem beautiful in a cityscape.
In this overstimulating environment, where the noise never ceases and the dust never settles, Zank’s work challenges us to pause and look closely at the textures of our surroundings. It invites us to find significance in the overlooked and the discarded, and to embrace the subtle beauty that often goes unnoticed in our fast-paced, urban lives. Through Falling The Same Way, Zank encourages a mindfulness that redefines how we perceive beauty, and how the everyday spaces we inhabit shape our perceptions of the world.
We look forward to sharing this exhibition with you, both at the gallery on December 5th and online, where you can continue to engage with these works through the end of the year.
