On the 6th of June, 2015, Amy Li Gallery presents the group exhibition Ruins of reality, misguided visions
, which was planed by Feng Boyi . This exhibition will display 26 art works.
What is called “Ruins of reality – Misguided visions” is just a description of the conflicts that stem from our lost dreams and fractured realities, as well as the hardships and choices that we have to face in our lives.
The word “ruins” has the meaning of ruins, but also that of void position or vacuity; “misguided” here is an analogy with the illusions of visual perceptions. The relations between “reality” and “visions” on one hand and “ruins” and “misguided” on the other hand stems from a subjective view, or reasons linked to artistic creation, and it pertains as well to the reality in which we find ourselves and our life experiences. And the artists of the present exhibition, through their paintings, are trying to find a kind of alienated visual effect. They are dynamic and representative young artists, and while some of their paintings and drawings have a seemingly realistic appearance, they are in fact fabricated visual rhetoric; there are some abstract fictions that transcend the binary opposition between reality and fiction, and that misplace in a subversive manner the so-called reality.
