The environmental projects of Christo Jeanne-Claude have been renowned as monumental feats of creativity and organization, often years in the planning. Well-known projects include Running Fence in California (1976), Surrounded Island in Miami (1983), Wrapped Reichstag in Berlin (1995) and The Gates in Central Park, New York (2005). Christo will be unveiling his newest project, Floating Piers, next summer at Italy’s Lake Iseo. From June 18th to July 3rd, 2016, 70,000 square meters of shimmering yellow fabric carried by a modular dock system of 200,000 high-density polyethylene cubes will float on the surface of the lake.

A diverse selection of early works, nineteen in total, will be on view including Packed Cans (1958-59), Package (1962), Packed Supermarket Cart (1963), an important large Store Front (1965) and Wrapped Paintings (1968), amongst others.
