David Nash is a Surrey-born artist who lives and works in Wales. Working primarily with wood, Nash uses naturally fallen trees, or ones felled due to safety, age or disease, to carve and form sculpture. Allowing the natural grain of the wood to inform the final piece, different forms emerge. Nash uses a variety of tools and has recently returned to 'pre-chainsaw' works whilst on lockdown at home in Wales. He also often charrs the wood or casts the sculptures in bronze.
