Critchley uses triptych and diptych formats to increase the story content. The triptychs all represent windows, three showing views looking out and one window allowing us to peer into a room. The fifth, a the diptych, is a door which opens to let us move from within the scene to the outside. The stories told are simple but forthright, we are looking at the world before us: four seascapes and one interior.
