Arcadia Contemporary will host “Drawn To Greatness”, the first exhibition in its new Downtown Culver City location. Culver City, CA – “Drawn to Greatness”, the first exhibition at Arcadia Contemporary’s new Culver City gallery will feature over 30 master drawings from an international array of representational artists. Featuring original drawings from Calabasas-based Jeremy Lipking to Berlin-based artist Daniel Coves, this exhibition is validation that the fine art and skill of draftsmanship is alive and well in the contemporary art world.
This exhibition is unique not only in the range of imagery presented but also in the diversity of artists participating. One contributing artist, George A. Morton, developed an art practice while in prison, and has emerged from that context as a master of his craft; another shares his mastery teaching workshops to benefit other artists. The exhibition will not only offer a stellar survey of works by many of Arcadia’s acclaimed roster of artists, but will also highlight many new talents that have not exhibited either in the gallery or on the West Coast. “Drawn to Greatness” opens on Saturday, September 17th, with a reception from 6:00 to 8:00 pm and runs through September 29th.
Arcadia Contemporary was founded in 2001 with a mission to exhibit highly skilled, representational artists, and proudly maintains its vision to present virtuosic, realist painting, drawing and sculpture by artists who are creating genuinely unique works.
