FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
New York City Painter Margaret Zox Brown First 2018 Open Studio
Viewers are welcome to Margaret Zox Brown’s studio to witness her work and creative space
NEW YORK, NEW YORK - February 26, 2018 What drives Margaret Zox Brown to paint whimsical images of vibrant flowers, human forms, and abstract still lifes? Joy.
This emotion is often an immediate response to Brown’s signature kaleidoscopic combination of colors and often overlooked details of life. Brown, however, notices and her paintings allow and encourage viewers to notice as well, on a vibrant, transportive and thought provoking level. The artist says her inspiration arises from “a line, a shape, a space, light.” Simple, foundational elements that are at the essence of human existence and the construction of art.
Through a love and control of form and color, the artist creates whimsy and curiosity out of moments that many of us relate to. For Brown, the emotion she returns to and hopes to share is joy, on that through the vehicle of art, Brown can and does share with her viewers. Brown is known for her intensity through color and expressive form, peeling back layers to reveal familiar subject matter.
Brown has shown in galleries and exhibitions nationally and internationally. Her work has a lengthy list of collectors, both private and corporate. Brown has also exhibited at and been commissioned by notable individuals and businesses such as Maialino restaurant and the Cafe in Fairway Market in NYC.
Saturday March 3 from 2 - 6pm, Margaret Zox Brown will open her studio on West 39th Street in New York City, to share her art, her color, her joy.
