Morley Gallery presents txtʃərz, a new two-screen video installation by Turner Prize-winning artist Elizabeth Price. Set in an undisclosed future, it follows the investigation of a strange and rapid contagion of muteness that spreads across certain professions. The story is delivered by a group of academic authors, writing about the phenomenon, who dispute the origins and meaning of this silence.
In response to txtʃərz there will be series of experimental and participatory performances including: a performance of John Luther Adams’ Sila: The Breath of the World from the Instant Orchestra led by Radio 3 DJ Max Reinhardt (Late Junction), Tanztheater, improvised accompaniment to Fritz Lang’s silent masterpiece, Woman In The Moon and Middlesex University's The Tuned Out Art Ensemble.
Presented by Morley College London and curator Sim Panaser
Supported by Arts Council England and the London Borough of Lambeth
