Romanian contemporary artist Alfred Rece's solo show "New Mankind" presents oil on canvas paintings. The exhibition places 'the new mankind' face to face with the past, in an intriguing dialogue of images, where present is depicted in color and the past is black and white.
Romanian contemporary artist Alfred Rece was born on June the 8th, 1969 in Craiova, Romania, where he lives and works at present. In 1993 he graduated from the National University of Arts in Bucharest. He was part of the "Crinul" group of artists together with Valentin Boboc, Francisc Chiuariu, Cătălin Burcea, Marian Maria, described as "one of the most consistent and dynamic groups of the last decade" by art critic Pavel Șușară. His solo exhibition at Artfooly Gallery, "New Mankind", presents large oil on canvas paintings by the artist. The artist explores the 'new mankind' by placing his characters face to face with the past, in an intriguing interaction, where present is depicted in color and the past is black and white. The opening of the show is on June 8th 2017, at 7.00pm, at Artfooly Gallery. The "New Mankind" exhibition will be open until June 29th 2017.
