Angela Lyn was born in 1955 in Windsor, England, of Anglo-Chinese origin. She emigrated with her family to the USA in 1968. In 1972, she travelled to Taiwan to meet her Chinese relatives for the first time, and also to attend studies in Chinese language and painting at Fu Jen University. Later she pursued fine art at Southampton College of Art, Byam Shaw School of Art at Central St Martins in London, and the Master Class at the Kunstgewerbeschule in Basel, Switzerland. Following her studies, Angela lived and worked in various parts of Switzerland. Since 1994 she lives and works in Lugano. She is the mother of three children.
Primarily a painter, Angela’s work focuses on the exploration of traditional media: oil painting, drawing and bronze sculpture, to investigate their continuing relevance in a world dominated by electronic media, technology and an ever faster production of the new. Throughout her career, Angela has held exhibitions in Switzerland and abroad. Her works can be found in numerous corporate, private and museum collections.
