Street Art keeps on being the protagonist at Artrust with the exhibition "Street Art 2. From Basquiat to Banksy, the Kings of the Street", open to the public from March 4th to May 30th. Much more than a brand new set-up, the exhibition introduces additional artworks and artists, offering visitors a panorama of the current state of urban art, in all its multiple expressions - without neglecting the origins of graffiti and the great names of this movement: Basquiat, Banksy, Haring, Obey.
From March 4th, Street Art returns to Melano: the Kings of the Street will again invade the spaces of Artrust in via Pedemonte di Sopra 1, for a new edition of the exhibition held last autumn. Until May 30th, visitors will have the opportunity to breathe once again the spirit of the street with over 50 works on display, most of them never seen by the public before.
This exhibition, in fact, although it is a continuation of the previous one, presents many new features with the presence of new pieces and artists representing the current Street Art scene, in particular the European one: many French present (El Moot Moot, EZK, Kurar, Lars, Thirsty Bstrd), but also English and Italian. Among these mentioned, ALO, Italian based in London, RAVO, Italian-Swiss famous for his unique style and his reproductions of Renaissance works with spray, and RAUL33, former protagonist of the exhibition "Atlantis" organized by Artrust in Lugano last autumn.
Large attention will obviously be reserved for some of the names that have made and continue to make history, including Basquiat, Keith Haring, Banksy and Obey (Shepard Fairey).
"According to Artprice's Contemporary Art Market Report 2017, Street Art is conquering more and more collectors. Today, among the ten contemporary artists for sold works, four belong to the Street Art scene - affirms Patrizia Cattaneo Moresi, Director of Artrust - it is also for these reasons, as well as for the success of the previous exhibition thanks to which we were able to involve a wide audience in terms of age and tastes, that we have decided to continue on the theme of Street Art».
This second edition is an opportunity for those who have not been able to visit the first one, to learn about Street Art in its multiple contemporary expressions and for those who have already been to the exhibition, to discover new works and new artists. Many works in our possession, in fact, were excluded for reasons of lack of space from the previous exhibition and thanks to recent acquisitions we are now able to propose a completely renewed exhibition.
