On March 23rd 2018, The Arts-Mart will held its second Orchestra In Art Event; The Three Egyptian Tenors, under the patronage of SODIC Art. The gallery collaborated with the United Philharmonic Orchestra as well as conductor Nader Abbassi and tenors Hany Abdel-Zaher, Ragaa Eldin and Amr Medhat. This special one night event brought together the visual and performance arts in one captivating artistic and cultural experience. The tenors performed masterpieces of the Italian opera and Neapolitan songs, such as “O Sole Mio” and “Nessun Dorma” and many more.
A Night of Musicals will be conducted by Nader Abbassi, an Egyptian-Swiss conductor famous for his exceptionally wide professional experience as a singer, bassoonist and composer. Nader Abbassi conducts various international orchestras including: Staatsphilharmonie Rheinland-Pfalz, Philharmonisches Rochester Heidelberg, Orchester des Richard Strauss Konservatoriums München (Germany) Philharmonique de Marseille, Orchestre National Pays de la Loire, Orchestra National Bordeaux Aquitaine (France), Orchestre de Chambre de Genève, Sinfonieorchester Basel (Switzerland), Nuriev Festival with the Bashkir Opera Orchestra (Russia), Orquesta Sinfonica de Guanajuato, Symphony Orchestra of the state of Mexico (Mexico), Norrkoping Philharmonic Orchestra (Sweden), Euro Orchestra de camera di Bari (Italy), Lisbon Philharmonic Orchestra (Portugal), North West Opera Orchestra (Ireland), Incheon Philharmonic Orchestra (Korea), Slovenian Phil Harmonic Orchestra (Slovenia). HEM Symphony Orchestra (Geneva). He gave his US debut with the Sacramento Philharmonic Orchestra in spring 2008.
Ragaa Eldin, a young Egyptian tenor, is not a stranger to the local operatic scene. Over the past years he has also made a big impression on the international stage where he was received with well-deserved acclaim. In 2017 he was the winner of the Best Tenor in the 19th International Tenors Tournament in Poland. Ragaa Eldin has participated in many competitions including the International Voice competition Spaziomusica in Italy and he was the semi-finalist of the international voice competition Wilhelm Stenhammar in Sweden.
Joining Ragaa Eldin on stage is Amr Medhat, another young Egyptian tenor born in 1984. Medhat has participated in Materclasses in the Mozarteum in Salzburg with Professor Horiana Branisteanu as well as in Finland with the internationally acclaimed Tom Krause and tenor Jorma Silvasti. His repertoire includes Riccardo in Un Ballo In Maschera, Alfredo in La Traviata, Rodolfo in La Boheme and many others.
Hany Abdelzaher is the third Egyptian tenor performing in our Orchestra In Art's second event. Currently living in Salzburg, Abdelzaher made his debut as Nerone in Monteverdi's L'incoronazione di Poppea in a performance of the opera productions of the Mozarteum Salzburg. Since then, Abdelzaher has performed internationally in countries such as Russia, Serbia, Montenegro, Bulgaria and many more. In 2018, he has a tour with the Vienna Philharmonica Orchestra performing Tito in Le Clemenza di Tito by Mozart in the Vienna Concert House.
