New art exhibition Rhythm and Hues opens September 10, 2016 at Artspace Warehouse. Featured artists include Erin Hammond, Ralf Bohnenkamp, Sean Keith, and Ash Almonte.
Erin Hammond expresses an eclectic style of fashion statement through her work. Many of her artworks are created first by writing which later turns to sketching, and finally into visual understanding.
Ralf Bohnenkamp's artworks enrich the scientifically cool cosmos of minimal paintings with a sensual and emotional elements. The pictures in their simple stylistic idiom and reduced color spectrum speak of physical principles which are the basis of our material world. They transform themselves through color-layering, bodyful materiality and visible strikes of the paint.
Heavily influenced by UK street artist Banksy, Sean Keith's artworks are characterized by a cheeky brand of appropriation characterized by the use of images from popular culture. He subtly alters the picture and its context, cleverly shifting the tone to create new meaning. The printed text and images on the page serve as a contrast to the artist’s lushly hand-painted figures, implying the difference between reality and fantasy.
Fast gaining nationwide attention for her unique and fresh style, Ash Almonte's uses references to abstract expressionism. Almonte is primarily inspired by beautiful color, incredible music, outrageous fashion, raw and loud works of art.
