Over a year ago, a few lucky travellers departing from Geneva international airport, have the privilege to wait for their flight in a very unusual way within Dnata’ Skyview lounge. In regards to passengers enthusiastic feedbacks, B LOUNGE ART is glad to announce an extension for the concept to 5 star Movenpick Geneva through a very new collaboration.
For the very first time, lobby walls will be discovered covered with impressive canvas. Exhibition displayed works in pairs with a digital platform(whose QR codes beside artworks redirect) providing more information on artwork displayed, the artist, making-off scenes etc, accessible to guests when they wish for it. Not just Art but Art experience. Not just decoration but artwork that can be acquired. In other words, an art gallery tailored to an hotel lobby or an hotel lobby turned into an art gallery.
Armando Garlun sculpts materials to create mysterious canvas. At first sight, it looks like a puzzle masterpiece that the eye has to solve. A little like clouds invite children into identifying shapes in the sky, Armando’s canvas hypnotize spectators until they identity figures and scenes. Titles are the only clue for this quest. Sometimes in French, sometimes in English others in Spanish, reveals the artist’ strong multicultural background. Born in Mexico in the early 50’s, he has become a Swiss citizen after 10 years. Including a great selection of his latest creations, the exhibition “love in the air” dives us in the heart of a couple choregraphy. On most of paintings, we can see lines, sometimes curved or intense, representing energy vibrations existing between characters.
Canvas are not the only guest of honour. With “Meetic”, “french kiss”, “Je t’aime moi non plus“, “Yin Yang pour le meilleur et le pire”,”long kiss”, Donne moi ta main”, Fernand Greco’sculptures also are. The artist also happens to be a doctor, whose almost obsession for steel material can easily be explained. After a medical thesis on tetanus, using rust material appears to him as a way to fight against such an eroding disease. Surprising figures arranged into a black and white section, a red section and all around the bar area are mostly on a steel basis.
