Francesca Meana, a young paper designer, decided to develop a project that combines the world of design with art: a tale of flowers and their meanings, an idea born from the discovery of a novel about the flowers and their meaning that sparked in her a curiosity that over the years has led her to study and read up, and then give the form to the wonder that evidence against this world.
"I think that using flowers to communicate thoughts and feelings is an extremely naive approach to return to a sentimentality lost now with the new technologies, but I cultivate with love my romantic side and this work is the fruit of my love; in an age where we talk about the crisis of emotions and feelings, I think is the right time to look back and take inspiration from the history and put it in the present day .
I would love if people came back to give flowers as they did once, I would like to see kids crossing the city on a blue scooter to bring a bouquet of tulips to their girlfriend and so declare their love; I would like to see friends that gather forget-me and ivy leaves to create an unbreakable bond of friendship, I wish that the simple smell of a lily would bring happiness in the hearts of those who are in trouble; I wish the daffodils became the symbol of the new beginning and not the vanity. "
That's why this project was born: to bring back the feelings at hand and make everything easier, just say it with a flower ... possibly a bouquet of flowers.
Francesca has therefore chosen 9 flowers or essences starting from her personal taste and trying not to choose discounted flowers and each of them has created a paper artwork, in which is not only depicted the flower, but where she tried to tell its meaning and their origin; quotes are different, was inspired not only by nature but also by masters who in some way have represented these feelings.
