ATARAXIA

Ciria's new work breaks the boundaries of the galleries and goes to the street while making us reflect on desires and happiness. Ataraxia can be seen from February 15 in Almaden Street. The exhibition is organized by the Blanca Soto Gallery.
The always risky Juan Manuel Ciria returns to Madrid. He does it with an exhibition that breaks the walls of the Blanca Soto Gallery and takes part of the Barrio de Las Letras. Almaden Street will become its exhibition space where it shows the work 'Ataraxia'.
Ciria's proposal focuses on a poetic and philosophical reflection of Ataraxia, a concept that for years have tried to define different currents of thought. It is the absence of shame. A state of serenity and tranquility. An order of equilibrium without disturbance in correspondence with reason, feelings and soul.
"In a society like ours, we are exposed to infinity of external and internal conditions that undermine any hint of moderation and harmony. The fragile and ephemeral, the means and the threats, the loss of values. Our egoism, the cravings for power, wealth and superficiality. The lies of politics and the desires of social positioning. Shows immense stupidity separates us irrevocably from the control of our passions and desires make us weak and unable to be happy", remarked Ciria on the concept of his work.
In spite of the large dimensions of this exhibition, the public will also be able to appreciate a series of creations in smaller formats that include portals and the interior of Blanca Soto Arte.
