Sorbet is the newest addition to the collection of Heliocentric lighting by Rob Zinn, exclusively for blankblank. This delicious palette is available on both the Viscosity and Expansion sconces, each available in four sizes and made to order in California.
Northern California-based blankblank presents the latest addition to its collection, the Sorbet colorway. Offered in two distinctive sconces, this colorway is a combination of mouthwatering pinks and yellows, each reflected onto the sconce's layered white planes.
Each Heliocentric colorway is carefully crafted as the interplay of light, color and form is complex and unpredictable. "It takes a lot of trial and error to determine which colors work well together and in what order," says designer Rob Zinn, who is also blankblank's Founder and Creative Director, "But when you get it right, the overall effect can be extraordinary." Each combination is tested in a variety of ambient lighting conditions and when the lights are on as well as off. "The colorway doesn't work for me if it isn't as pleasing when the light is on as when the light is off. The beauty of these light sculptures is that they function, subtlely, even without the fixture being turned on."
Expansion and Viscosity sconces are made to order in Northern California in combination with a local 100-year old lighting firm, and use a single 60W bulb. UL listing is available upon request. Multiple color options are available including custom colorways.
