Last ten days of April 2017 will celebrate three important upcoming events in Monte-Carlo -
Monte-Carlo ROLEX MASTERS, TopMarques Monaco Show and Ed Williamson's Art Show.
Having played professional rugby in the English Premiership for over a decade, Ed Williamson moved to South West France in 2014 to focus on his art. A talented artist, Ed prefers a more contemporary approach to his paintings, which includes using a variety of paints and techniques on each canvas.
After being immersed in a sport which is both brutal and beautiful since the age of 18, Ed has incorporated this sense of contradiction into his current series, ‘Faces’ through his use of colour and texture, and in some cases composition.
Ed is fascinated by the idea of a darkness that is not visible at a first glance but which often dominates the character, again taking inspiration from his time as a professional athlete.
Ed's paintings are in private collections around the world, but most notable, of Prince Albert de Monaco, Ross Beattie (Owner of Thirty-Nice, Scotland Rugby, and Newcastle Falcons), Toby Flood (England Rugby and Toulouse Rugby) and Tom May (England Rugby and Rugby Toulon).
Ed Williamson will be presented by BOCCARA ART at Art New York Fair May 3-7 2017 during New York Art Week 2017 where he will be showing a new collection, ‘Ode’.
