A Varied Collection of Master Painter William Thomson
Once again, Bowersock Gallery opens the vaults to offer the varied series and collections from William Thomson, an outstanding contemporary American artist who passed in 2014. (Work will be added to the online exhibition weekly.)
The artist's work appears in the Britain Museum of American Art, Holyoke Museum of Art & History, Mattatuck, DeCordova, Berkshire and Slater Museum collections, among others. His works are found in major private collections throughout the world, as well. Of note and honor, a proud moment for Bill was to be featured in the "Great American Watercolor" exhibition of the New Britain Museum of American Art showcasing alongside the masterful John Singer Sargent.
"Thomson showed a brilliant hand with every genre: landscapes, portraits, narratives, and even with the rare still-life," Senger, co-owner of Bowersock Gallery, says. "He was a formidable artist, dedicated in totality to his career until the very end of his life. Every piece, as you'll see, has a unique sincerity and depth, unmatched. This body of work is a gem for collectors, both new and old." Make sure you follow us to keep abreast on new work as it's posted.
