Qade (Qontemporary Art and DEsign) Solo Project is an art fair that aims to provide the audience with a broad oriented art-event. Galleries will show artworks of established artist and designers, in combination with young talent.
Gavin Turk and Sarah Lucas (with Rob Malasch), paintings by Bernard Frize (QF) and Marc Mulders (Dom Arte) next to works of the upcomming french photographer Denis Rouvre (Project 2.0) who recently was the big hit at Paris Photo. Guido Geelens famous 'tulipvases', straight from a museumshow (with Berlin's Brutto Gusto) or a spectacular instalation by the Brazilian urban artist Cranio (with Vroom&Varossieau).
With 25 participating galleries, whom will each present 2 solo exhibitions, people can expect a surprisingly and diverse offer that will stimulate curiosity. Recognition next to astonishment. Underscoring freedom and possibilities, the interdisciplinary diversity and vitality of the contemporary artworld.
There will be no traditional 'booths' nor straight gangways, but you wander from space to space, almost as through big rooms in a deserted industrial building.
The fair is embedded in the the Art Rotterdam Week, with its multitude of cultural events, other art fairs, pop up presentations en museum openings, and takes place in the iconic Cruise Terminal, one of Rotterdam's most beautiful locations, with it's stunning view across the river towards the citycentre.
