San Francisco, CA - Caldwell Snyder Gallery is pleased to present new sculpture from acclaimed German artist, Willi Siber, in his most recent exhibition. Sculptures will be on display in San Francisco from March 1st through the 30th.The playful, meticulously constructed works of German painter, sculptor, and object artist Willi Siber create unique landscapes of color, shadow, and light. Siber's focus on wood and metal, often covering his sculptures with brilliant, monochromatic hues and reflective finishes, has resulted in an endlessly fascinating and intricate new body of work. Siber’s work is remarkable in its use of color. With a palette ranging from muted earth tones to electric hues of pink and green, he seems to match form to color as if by instinct. The bent-and-folded steel pipe sculptures, covered in pristine coats of enamel, possess a luxurious shimmer, beckoning like jewels, while other works, coated in darker, powdery hues, are quiet and subdued. Pattern and form are also central to Siber’s works. The clean lines of his steel and lacquer wall sculptures fold and unfold in colorful ribbons and knots, while his wood panels covered with metal and epoxy resemble rare, elaborate coral. Each piece seems part of an endlessly expansive system, imbued with a sense of wonder and possibility.Siber, born in Germany in 1949, earned his degree from the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart. An internationally exhibiting artist since 1990, Siber has shown his work at galleries, museums, and art fairs across Europe and the U.S. as well as in Seoul, Hong Kong, and Australia. Siber's work can be found in public collections across the world, including the German Bundestag Federal Republic in Berlin, the German Embassy in Buenos Aires, as well as Municipal Art Museums in Spendhaus, Reutlingen, and Schwäbisch Gmünd, and more.Caldwell Snyder is a leading contemporary art gallery representing many of the most significant international painters and sculptors of the 21st century.
