'Water for my mind' is the first duo show by painter Giovanni Winne and sculptor Edith Ronse. A common inspiration for this exhibition is their fascination for water. Winne (°1975) lives and works in Zierikzee, the ideal location for the production of seascapes and portraits (not unlike Turner's Margate). His paintings have the quality of works by Spilliaert, Permeke and Thierry De Cordier. Ronse (°1988), on the other hand, produces seductive, sirene-like sculptures who draw you into a world inspired by the classical tradition of Greek and Roman sculpture, although Edith adds a twist that undoubtedly makes her work quite contemporary. 'Water for my mind' combines the hardship of Winne’s seascapes with the timeless beauty of Ronse's sculpture.
