Caroline Mesquita will present a new body of work that she described as space ships or vessels. In the artist’s own words : „I wanted to create forms that we cannot link to a form of vehicle we already know, and forms that we cannot understand from one point of view, complex sculptures which seems different from each side !“
Caroline Mesquita explores the vitality and complexity of group behavior in many of her sculptural installations. Raw material provides the spark that animates her narrative engagement with notions of religion, embodiment, transformation, sensuality, and sociability. Mesquita’s works are darkened, patinated and roughly textured through an oxidation process.
