The artist Alê Jordão will promote a series of neon workshops in his studio. The initiative takes place in parallel to Iluminata, an exhibition promoted in space by the Choque Cultural Gallery. The workshops will allow the curious in the art to witness, closely, how the neon light arises.
Accompanied by a master-expert, Alê Jordão will make a series of live demonstrations, exposing the public to his creation process. The glasses will be shaped, blown and illuminated with the use of blowpipe and electric instruments. You will also be shown how the colors of the neon form - an almost magical combination of gases and colored glass. The public will be invited to interact and the more skilled will be able to take some pieces home.
"The neon light always provokes an enchantment in people, perhaps for the highlight of the pieces, perhaps for a certain nostalgia," says Ale Jordão. "Every piece is a new one, every piece is unique, like in the murano, the twist in the glass does not repeat itself." Working with the neon is a delirious paranoia, my new way of expressing graffiti, "says the artist. Greek, the word also refers to something new.
