Christopher Martin Gallery is proud to announce its participation at the 2016 edition of Art Wynwood, February 11-15. The Gallery will present a 2 person show featuring new works by contemporary American painter Christopher H. Martin and American sculptor Michael Enn Sirvet. Both artists will be in attendance.
Abstract artist Christopher H. Martin, a Florida native and Aspen resident; is widely known for his signature technique of painting in reverse on the back of large acrylic panels. Inspired by nature, he harnesses heat, wind, water and gravity to manipulate the paint. Martin fuses numerous applications of paint, linear movement, and fields of color to evoke calm excitement and natural beauty in his paintings. In 2012, Martin completed a 120-feet long painting for the Formula One Track, Circuit of the Americas, in Austin, TX. In 2013 Christopher exhibited in the 55th Venice Biennale collateral exhibition: Personal Structures: Time, Space & Existence. In 2015, Martin celebrated 20 years of artistic career with the publication of his first monograph Twenty Years. This summer, an exclusive selection of works were released as limited edition aluminum transfers. Martin is represented in Aspen, Dallas, Houston, Boston, Bridgehampton, Los Angeles and La Jolla. His work is in numerous private and corporate collections in the U.S. and abroad.
The Gallery is very excited to bring the work of American structuralist sculptor Michael Enn Sirvet to CONTEXT. Sirvet sculptures relate the intricacy of mechanical systems to the complex rhythms, structures and patterns discovered in nature. In his newest pieces for the show, Michael recreates the ocean’s waves in steel tangent lines and created monolithic totems. Sirvet is based in Washington, DC and his works is in several private collections as well as in the U.S. Embassies in Malta and Dubai.
With locations in the Dallas Design District; in the heart of Aspen downtown and their new Santa Fe gallery on Canyon Rd, Christopher Martin Gallery specializes in contemporary art, specifically abstraction and Organic Expressionism with a focus on the work of American artist Christopher H. Martin. The expanded gallery program includes artists working on sculpture. This year’s focus is on the work of Michael Enn Sirvet. With 20 years of experience, Christopher Martin Gallery serves national and international collectors and manages the creation and completion of commissioned works of art for private and corporate collections.
