Carry On Films: Rare & Iconic Images from the ITV Archives

RARE COLLECTION OF ‘CARRY ON’ IMAGES GOES ON SALE TO MARK THE CLASSIC FILM SERIES’ 60th ANNIVERSARY

100 prints of the 13 images are available for sale.

(May 15, 2018, London) London and Los Angeles fine art publisher Classic Stills is releasing 13 rare photos from the Carry On film series. The collection of images, sourced from ITV’s photo archives, has never previously been available for purchase. It marks 60 years since the first Carry On film, Carry On Sergeant, was released in 1958.
The collection goes on sale on May 15th.

The collection includes on-set and behind-the-scenes photos featuring some of the films’ most popular actors, including Kenneth Williams, Sid James, Joan Sims, Charles Hawtrey, Jim Dale, Hattie Jacques and Peter Butterworth.

A staple of British comedy in the 1960s and 70s, the Carry On series ran from 1958 to 1992 and featured 31 full-length films - the largest number in any British film series.

100 individually-numbered, hand-framed prints of the 13 images are available for sale at £99 each. The images are developed using the chromogenic print (C-print) process and are printed on archival-quality photo paper. Every print is framed by hand, comes with acid-free matting and hinging, and is protected by UV acrylic to prevent fading.
