Art model Ume’s collaboration with the 30 artists includes portraying her in the same pose and a requirement that her abdominal scar must be featured. All the artworks will be available for viewing on Sept 19th-20th. A charity auction will be held during the reception on 19th.
The second iteration of Ume’s art collaboration comes to fruition on September 19.
The exhibition carries the same, but perhaps an even stronger intention from 29 BodieS in 2018 , and showcases 30 artists (the number 30 to commemorate Ume’s birthday).
As an experienced life drawing model, Ume is a consummate subject of a show that celebrates the self, identity, and how we see ourselves.
The collection of portraits, taken as a whole or individually, seem to give the viewer a glimpse into how we might see others seeing us.
Ume’s collaboration with the 30 artists includes portraying her in the same pose and a requirement that her abdominal scar must be featured.
This daily reminder of a near-death experience is symbolic to the fragility of life, and something which we may struggle to be aware of until we see it in others.
All 30 pieces will be available for viewing on September 19-20, 2019
An online charity auction will be held at Con Artist Collective before the reception date and an auction will be held during the reception. Proceeds will be donated to art-start (http://www.art-start.org/), not for profit organization.
