October 4, 2016 - Miami, FL Conde Contemporary, the gallery in Coral Gables specializing in representational works with a focus on Cuban art, presents the exhibition, "Figurativism : A Contemporary Movement".
"Figurativism : A Contemporary Movement" opens on Saturday, October 8th from 7-9:00pm at Conde Contemporary, 204 Miracle Mile, Coral Gables, Fl.
The exhibition features representational works by Anthony Ardavin, Andres Conde, Natasha Kertes, Rainer Lagemann, Darian Rodriguez Mederos, Luis Rodriguez Noa, Enrique Toledo, and Luis Enrique Toledo del Rio.
In "Figurativism : A Contemporary Movement", Director of Conde Contemporary, Stacy Conde, presupposes the turn away from representational work and toward abstraction and the purely conceptual, is coming to an end.
"There is, of course, room in the art world for every artist and every style of work. It is my assertion that artists and scholars have extrapolated what art is and what art can be to such a degree that in many cases it is no longer relatable. If every action has an equal and opposite reaction, I think we're in for a massive resurgence of classicism and representational art." - Stacy Conde
The exhibition "Figurativism : A Contemporary Movement" closes on Friday, November 4th.
Conde Contemporary is open from 12-9 Tuesday - Saturday, and 12-6 on Sunday. Call 239.961.0452 to schedule a private viewing.
