Artist MARGO SELBY’s handweaving combines colour & geometry, commissioned and collected worldwide. Her focus is design, lampas weaving, colour & proportion. Painterly optical sensations are also sculptural constructions of yarn; colour integral & physical. Thousands of threads are exactly hand-placed; precision with close affinity to graphics. Works operate as visual objects, not pictures or decoration. Formal aesthetics are paramount and in constant intersection: shape, orientation, rhythm. Inspirations are typography, handmade textiles & architecture.
