In an expansive, intertwining world of color, abstraction, collage and symbolism, the painting of David Gaither is an immersive experience in maximalism. Energetic, complex and with a catalogue of imaginative references, Gaither leads us on journeys through hyper-charged dimensions and realities that challenge the spatial constraints of the canvas. The exhibition, "Look a Little Closer", comprised mostly of circular snapshots focuses on particular interactions of color and shape that have been instrumental to the artist’s larger body of work. As such, the exhibition is both a study of process as well as being a careful look at statement.
Born in 1977 in Atlanta, Georgia, David Gaither’s work has been exhibited regularly throughout the US and recently the Tubman Museum of African American Art presented a solo exhibition of his work.
