Dubner Moderne is pleased to announce a new solo exhibition, "Fugues" by the Iranian artist Mahmoud Hamadani from May 9th until July 1st 2017. The vernissage and cocktail will take place on Wednesday May 17th from 18h.
Chronicling an emergence of form, character and language, Fugues is an exhibition of ink on paper drawings by the Iranian born artist Mahmoud Hamadani. The works, mostly from his Requiem series, flow with perspective, successively intertwining short calligraphic structures, into melodic shapes that move towards abstract horizons. This series of works and the exhibition as a whole reflect the poetic and mathematical experiences that have shaped his artistic statement. It is therefore with great pleasure that we will be presenting works from his "Requiem", "Odes" and "Traces" series.
Born in 1958 in Rasht, Iran, Hamadani's work has been extensively exhibited throughout the US and the Middle East and his works can be found in the permanent collection of British Museum in London and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
