Jane Coats Eckert is pleased to curate a gallery show that highlights artists she has had the pleasure to work with as a gallerist.
Eckert Fine Art was established in Naples, Florida in 1995 and for thirteen years mounted shows and worked with luminary artists such as Robert Rauschenberg, James Rosenquist, Christo, John Chamberlain, Robert Indiana, Roy Lichtenstein, Boaz Vaadia, Don Gummer and Eric Forstmann. Paintings, works on paper and sculpture have been acquired for sale from collectors, family and friends of these artists who wanted to help celebrate the history of Eckert Fine Art, now located in the beautiful Kent Barns section of Kent, Ct.
Jane Coats Eckert’s roots are in 19th and early 20th Century American Artists on whom she wrote and lectured. In 1996 she opened Eckert Fine Art in Naples, Florida where she formed a business relationship and friendship with Robert Rauschenberg. She curated shows on Rauschenberg at three museums and specialized in art by Roy Lichtenstein, Christo, Robert Indiana, and James Rosenquist. In recent years since relocating to the quaint village of Kent, Ct. Jane has placed important artworks with museums and collectors by Jean-Michel Basquiat, Girogio de Chirico, Henry Moore, Niki de Saint Phalle, and John Chamberlain.
Ms. Eckert is the past Chair of the Director’s Advisory Council at Mass Moca, served as Secretary of the Fine Art Dealer’s Association and was in 2017 named one of the 25 Most influential People in Litchfield Ct.
